MOM FILES: GUILTY THOUGHTS

Am I the only one who gets upset when their child gets sick on the weekend?  I mean, why couldn't that fever have started on Thursday?  That way, I wouldn't have to go to work!  We could chill at home for a couple of days.  By the time the weekend comes, you'll be alright and we can continue our weekend lives like nothing ever happened.

Really, No More School Buses?

I chit chat on a fairly regular basis with my mother and she told me that they were no longer going to use school buses to transport students throughout lausd. Say what now? Soooo they pretty much want kids to stay in their communities to learn, which would be good, however, many inner city schools don't have enough resources to achieve this goal. Further more, many parents send their kids out of their neighborhood because it's just not safe! So now my little brother has to face an inevitable encounter with gang members going to the neighborhood school, or by riding public transportation to the valley. That's not to say the children shouldn't have their own drive and will to make something of themselves, but when they don't know what's out there for them, they become products of their environments.

 Why are so many resources being taken away from our children? It's like they want people to stay poor and uneducated. Why, so they can build more prisons?  They think that we don't care about our children's future? Is that it? If that was the case, we wouldn't send our kids to other cities to be taught where we know they will actually learn and have the tools to do so!  All I'm saying is stop taking away from our children! They have to run our country later and I don't want any dumbasses in charge while I'm still around! Ok I already know we have some of those, but just imagine how much worse it could be.
