Beauty

 I woke up this morning feeling good.  No hangover, just a hungry baby calling my name and smiling when I acknowledged him.  Unfortunately that won't be everyone's experience today, for it is the new year and many people got wasted and might have even ended up in jail. Enough about the misfortunate. 
   As I was preparing my baby's breakfast I received a knock at the door. Who could it be? Was it the REO agent reminding me that I have a couple of weeks to move? No, it was my oldest son's aunt coming to pick him up. Oops, overslept. It's cool though, we just talked outside until he was ready.  Outside was, and still is, so beautiful today.  A passerby said "Hi, happy new year." Oh and the people are nice this year too! No one ever speaks to me in this neighborhood.  A new year, new experiences.  I think my word for the year will be beautiful.  That's how I'm feeling right now, beautiful.  I'm not going to sweat the small stuff this year. I will vow to keep my finances in check so my account stays beautiful.  I will watch what I put in my mouth so my body will stay beautiful.  I will spend quality time with my family so our relationships stay beautiful.  Lastly, I will ignore any negative energy, because seeing the positive in everything is beautiful.  I think my life will be richer, richer than it has ever been with beauty all around. 
  So everyone, get out and see the beauty that lies ahead today.  Ignore negativity so you can experience the beauty in your lives tomorrow.  Make the necessary changes so your life can be filled with beauty always.
