A GREAT MIND INFLUENCED BY A NEGATIVE DESIGN

I wrote this poem for someone who is very close to me that is going through a very rough time in life right now.

A ray of light

Overshadowed by this thing called life

You are a star

In search of the source to take you far

Depression rules

You don't see it, but we do

Your grey demeanor

Can't hide your fake smile

Life hasn't failed you

There is still so much left

A great mind

Influenced by a negative design

They say there is one is every family

Never thought it would be so close 

You appeal to my heart

And that is weakness on my part

I want to see you succeed

So I struggle to see the truth in the lies you feed

My naivete is your demise

Your worst enemy in disguise
